The entry is about the bookshops in the western area of the Roman Empire. It includes a general description of Rome’s bookshops and how they worked as well as a closer look at three bookshops in Rome (the Sosii’s bookshop in the uicus Tuscus or on the Argiletum, Secundus’ and Atrectus’ bookshops, both on the Argiletum) and two bookshops outside the capital (one in Lugdunum (Lyon) and one in Brundisium (Brindisi)).
